News From The Dragons Mouth!

As some of you have no doubt noticed, there was no comic for today. There is a very good reason for that, which some people have already expressed their disappointment at. I'm afraid that Here There Be Dragons has run its last daily strip. More than that, Here There Be Dragons will not be continuing.

I would love to tell everyone that there will be periodic updates, but at the moment, I really don't have any intention of doing such a thing. Ironically enough, my reasoning is very much the same as over at T-N-T, with the actual timing incredibly uncanny.

Will this be the last update? Possibly, but not certainly. I have no intention of stopping as an artist, though I doubt I can actively participate in the internet community as I have been of late. The fact is, life has gotten in the way of the internet, priorities change. Working, friends, and other things.

What would a future update look like? Possibly some art not associated with Here There Be Dragons, but since I have the webspace, I may as well use it. It will expire in six months, so until then, the site will remain up. Possibly I will become motivated again to draw Here There Be Dragons, but at the moment that seems unlikely.

Let me say that this is not because of lack of support. I appreciate very much all the support everyone has given, as well as for everyone who has been reading the comic. To use a cliche, 'its not you, its me, I just can't do this anymore.'

That being said, this has been an incredible learning experience, which was essentially what it was supposed to be in the first place. So in that sense, I have succeeded. The decision to end Here There Be Dragons has not been recent, I just regret not being able to bring it to an adequate closing point. Perhaps it will finish someday. Perhaps.
